Full Job Description

We are looking for music and art teachers to join our preschool teaching team in Hoboken for the 2026/2027 school year.

We are looking for teachers who are available Monday through Friday from 8.15am to 12.15pm. We will consider applicants who are only available 2-3 mornings per week.

Our curriculum is play-based and with an emphasis on the importance of creativity. Our classes reflect our passion for creativity, curiosity, and each child's unique passions and interests.

We are looking for teachers who have a natural rapport with 2 to 3-year-old children, and who are patient, nurturing, creative and playful.

Responsibilities

Work with your co-teachers to deliver the elements of the two or three-hour class
Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, play, songs and movement etc.) to engage the children
Observe each child to help them build confidence, independence, and self-regulation.

Skills

BSc or BA is required (preferably in music, musical theater, art, music or art therapy, and/or early childhood education)
A background in early childhood education with a minimum of 2 years' experience as a teacher for this age group;
For applicants with a background in music, we would like you to be able to play guitar or ukulele.
For applicants with a background in art, we would like you to have experience setting up process art projects and guiding children to interact with the art materials.
Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and familiarity or interest in play-based early childhood education
Reliability - arriving on time is essential (please only apply if you live in or close to Hoboken to ensure that you can arrive on time)
Excellent communication and instructional skills
Patient, friendly, creative, and reliable
Interest in yoga and mindfulness is a bonus but not required.
Certification in child CPR (we can arrange this for you if you don't have it)

We require two references and will be conducting fingerprint and Child Abuse Record Information background checks as part of the onboarding process.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
