Storm Equipment is deeply rooted in the industry we serve. We even still maintain a commercial snow removal business in Mankato to this day! This continually keeps us in touch with our roots as snow contractors, and also serves as the real world launching pad for new products and innovations.
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, detail‑oriented CNC Operator to join our team in Le Center. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce high‑quality parts according to specifications. Many of our CNC‑produced components move directly into sheet‑metal forming, so press brake experience is strongly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines according to production requirements and engineering drawings.
- Load materials, adjust machine settings, and monitor operations for accuracy and quality.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
- Document production output and quality checks as required.
- Assist with press brake operations for formed components as needed.
Preferred Experience
- Press brake operation (setup, tooling changes, bending operations for formed components).
- Background in sheet metal fabrication or precision machining.
- Ability to make minor CNC program adjustments.
- Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Hours
· Full-Time: Approximately 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed.
· Core availability: Monday-Thursday 7a-5p; Friday 7a-12p
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of CNC machine operation experience preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measurement tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and consistent production output.
Base Salary: $26.00 to $28.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications of the candidate.
PTO: Employees earn paid time off throughout the year, equating to approximately 80+ hours annually for full‑time team members.
Paid Sick & Safe Time: Employees are also eligible for paid sick and safe time in accordance with Minnesota law (up to 48 hours per year).
Retirement Contributions:
Storm Equipment sponsors a Savings Incentive Match Plan (SIMPLE) IRA retirement plan. The company provides a matching contribution of up to 3% of each employee’s pay. All employees are eligible. Employees are totally vested in all contributions.
