Overview: Athena Manufacturing is seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Controller to serve as the operational nerve center of the Integration Cell. This role is responsible for day-to-day production scheduling, work-in-process tracking, delivery performance management, and coordination of outsourced manufacturing activities across multiple supplier partners.
The Production Controller maintains visibility of all open Purchase Orders, monitors delivery commitments, manages controlled material logistics, and ensures accurate ERP data integrity within Made2Manage (M2M). This role plays a critical part in ensuring Athena meets customer delivery expectations while supporting scalable manufacturing operations in the semiconductor, aerospace, and precision manufacturing industries.

Scheduling & Production Coordination
- Maintain the master production schedule across all active outsourcing partners and open Purchase Orders.
- Release work to supplier partners against approved schedules and confirm delivery commitments prior to release.
- Coordinate schedule updates, priority changes, and demand fluctuations with internal teams and supplier partners in real time.
- Monitor work-in-process (WIP) activity and identify schedule risks or delays proactively.
- Escalate delivery or scheduling concerns with recommended mitigation plans.
- Ensure alignment between Athena’s internal production schedule and outsourced manufacturing schedules.
- Support production readiness activities related to customer ramps, expedited jobs, and schedule recovery plans.
Delivery Performance & Supplier Coordination
- Track and report supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance metrics.
- Support supplier accountability through routine follow-up and escalation processes.
- Coordinate expedite requests and premium freight activity when necessary to recover schedules.
- Monitor supplier capacity utilization and identify future risk areas related to backlog or throughput limitations.
- Maintain strong daily communication with supplier production teams and scheduling contacts.
ERP & Data Integrity
- Maintain accurate and timely data within Made2Manage (M2M) ERP systems.
- Process Purchase Order receipts, inventory transactions, WIP updates, and production milestones.
- Generate operational reports including open PO reports, WIP aging reports, material reconciliation reports, and delivery metrics.
- Identify and escalate ERP data discrepancies or process issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling accuracy, production visibility, and workflow efficiency.
Material & Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate movement and tracking of controlled or customer-supplied material between Athena and supplier partners.
- Work closely with Receiving, Stockroom, Shipping, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely material flow.
- Reconcile material usage and identify discrepancies or shortages.
- Ensure required documentation accompanies all shipments, including packing slips and Certificates of Conformance (C of C).
Communication & Reporting
- Serve as a primary operational point of contact for supplier scheduling and production coordination.
- Participate in production meetings and provide updates regarding schedule status, delivery risks, and operational performance.
- Prepare weekly operational summaries and reporting metrics for leadership review.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams.
- Other duties as assigned by Leadership
Qualifications: Minimum Preferred Qualifications, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain coordination, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience working within ERP systems for production scheduling, inventory management, and Purchase Order tracking.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills including data analysis, reporting, and scheduling management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain visibility across numerous open jobs simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to identify operational risks proactively and escalate appropriately.
- U.S. Person status required due to ITAR-controlled environment.
- Experience with Made2Manage (M2M) ERP.
- APICS CPIM certification or similar supply chain certification.
- Experience in aerospace, semiconductor, defense, or precision manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems and documentation requirements.
- Experience with subcontract manufacturing, outsourcing operations, or multi-site production coordination.
- Knowledge of controlled material or Government Furnished Material (GFM) tracking.
