Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Dietary Aide and play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality nutritional care to our residents. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will assist in meal service, food preparation, and sanitation efforts within a vibrant healthcare environment. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will ensure that residents receive nutritious, well-presented meals in a safe and welcoming setting. Duties

Assist with food production and meal preparation according to dietary guidelines and safety standards
Serve meals to residents with courtesy, ensuring adherence to individual dietary requirements and preferences
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through proper sanitation, cleaning, and bussing procedures
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, following all workplace safety protocols and PPE use guidelines
Support food handling activities including portioning, plating, and packaging meals while practicing safe lifting practices
Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and monitoring expiration dates to uphold food safety standards
Collaborate with nursing staff and dietary team to accommodate special diets for residents with specific health needs or restrictions

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or food industry settings is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
Knowledge of food production, preparation, sanitation, and serving techniques aligned with JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) standards
Ability to handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting and safe lifting practices in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and adhering to food safety regulations including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently throughout shifts
Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach when working with geriatric patients or residents
Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already held
Commitment to workplace safety protocols including PPE use, proper hygiene practices, and following all sanitation guidelines
