Full Job Description

Bay Medic Ambulance is seeking dedicated Paramedics to join our team serving San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties. As a Paramedic with Bay Medic Ambulance, you will play a crucial role in providing advanced emergency medical care to our community. Starting pay: $32 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action and appropriate protocol.
Utilize medical equipment and procedures, including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, intravenous fluids, CPR, and other procedures and medications as required to provide advanced medical care.
Develop and utilize triage skills to ensure optimal efficiency during calls.
Provide patient care according to clinical protocols and safety requirements.
Lift and move patients as required to provide optimum care.
Communicate with the receiving facility to receive medical direction and provide critical information.
Communicate with patients and loved ones to offer information, assurance that care is being provided, and compassion.
Act as a team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management as needed.
Drive the ambulance and provide map reading support to minimize call response time.
Continuously maintain all required certifications.
Communicate with the dispatcher to receive and understand call data and customer feedback.
Monitor and maintain the general condition of the unit, keep it clean, and stocked for optimal call response to maintain the image of Bay Medic.
Document activities regarding patient care and billing completely to ensure appropriate information is available for each call.
Consider patient status and preferred insurance facilities when determining transportation destinations.
Demonstrate the ability to work past scheduled shifts with little or no notice.
Work collaboratively and professionally with all allied health and public safety personnel.
Immediately report any incident involving negative customer and/or patient interaction to the on-duty supervisor and/or account manager.
Read road maps, drive vehicles, and accurately discern street signs and address numbers.
Read medication/prescription labels and usage directions quickly, accurately, and expediently.
Detect deviations/changes in eye/skin coloration due to patient's condition and treatment provided.
Converse with dispatchers and EMS providers via phone or radio regarding the patient's status.
Adhere to all company and county EMS policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

San Joaquin and/or Stanislaus county Accreditation Preferred
Minimum of 18 years of age or older
Must read, write and speak English
Minimum high school diploma or GED
Current state Paramedic License.
Valid California driver’s license
Valid Ambulance Drivers Certificate
Medical Examiner’s Certificate
California DMV H6 Motor Vehicle Report
American Heart Association BLS certification
Current ACLS and PALS - PEPP Provider Certification
Must be able to lift, drag, hoist, and carry different types of equipment and other object
Good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition that would not be adversely affected by frequently having to walk, stand, lift, carry, and balance
