Job Title: Accounting Assistant
Status: Temp-to-Hire
Work Type: In Person
Pay: $45,000-$50,000 annually
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | Start Time Between 6:00 AM–8:00 AM (8-hour workday)
Location: Plymouth, MN

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support the accounting and administrative functions of a growing organization. This role works closely with the Accounting Officer, Office Manager, and leadership team to assist with billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable documentation, lien waiver processing, and project administration. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and enjoys working in a fast-paced office environment while building strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Accounting Officer with billing activities, lien waiver documentation, and monthly spreadsheets.
Assist the Office Manager and Accounting team with daily administrative and accounting functions.
Prepare project pre-lien notices accurately and on time.
Maintain and organize Accounts Receivable (A/R) filing systems.
Assist with Accounts Payable (A/P) documentation and related paperwork.
Maintain comprehensive billing and project documentation.
Provide regular progress updates and documentation to management.
Support project cost control efforts and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
Assist in developing and following company policies and procedures.
Serve as the secondary point of contact for incoming phone calls.
Foster positive working relationships with vendors, customers, and internal team members.
Perform additional administrative and accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience preferred.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to learn RFMS software.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Positive attitude with a high level of professionalism and energy.
Ability to identify potential issues and resolve them proactively.
Team-oriented with a commitment to supporting company goals and procedures.

Working Conditions:

Daily computer use and frequent interaction with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
Regular communication with internal staff, vendors, and customers.
