Membership & Communications Specialist

Position Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $35,000 – $40,000 annually

Location: Regional / On-site

About the Role

Are you a people-focused professional who enjoys building relationships, planning events, and creating engaging communications? We are seeking a Membership & Communications Specialist to help grow our membership, coordinate key community events, and promote organizational initiatives. In this role, you will play a central part in community engagement through multi-channel communication, networking, and active member support.

Key Responsibilities

Membership & Engagement: Develop and implement membership retention and engagement initiatives; welcome and onboard new members while building relationships with prospective ones.
Events & Networking: Coordinate ribbon cuttings, grand openings, networking events, and member visits. Assist with planning and executing special events, meetings, and educational programs.
Communications & Marketing: Create and distribute compelling communications including emails, social media content, website updates, and organizational newsletters.
Data Management: Maintain and update the membership database, tracking event participation and engagement metrics to measure success.
Community Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal staff, volunteers, committees, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor suitable for building relationships at all levels.
Event & Project Management: Strong organizational abilities, experience managing multiple deadlines, and a proven track record in event coordination.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases, spreadsheets, social media platforms, and basic photography.
Flexibility: Ability to work occasional evenings for networking events and special programs.
