Assistant Managing Partner (AMP)

Reports To: Managing Partner / Director of Operations

Position Summary

The Assistant Managing Partner (AMP) is a key leader in the restaurant, responsible for supporting the Managing Partner in driving day-to-day execution, team development, and financial performance.

This is a hands-on leadership role. The AMP helps turn systems into consistent results — ensuring food quality, service standards, and team performance are executed at a high level every day, including the successful operation of our bar and beverage program.

The AMP is not just supporting operations — they are developing into a Managing Partner role over time.

What You’ll Be Responsible ForOperations & Execution

Support daily restaurant operations to ensure consistent, high-quality execution
Uphold standards for food quality, cleanliness, speed, and guest experience
Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) and lead shifts with clarity and control
Ensure all company systems, SOPs, and health/safety standards are followed

Bar & Beverage Program

Support execution of the bar, beer, wine, and cordials program in alignment with company standards
Ensure responsible alcohol service and full compliance with all licensing and regulations
Oversee beverage quality, consistency, and presentation
Support inventory, ordering, and cost control for bar products
Train staff on beverage offerings, service standards, and upselling

Team Leadership & Development

Support hiring, onboarding, and training of team members
Coach supervisors and hourly staff to improve performance and consistency
Help build a strong leadership bench (shift leads, supervisors)
Reinforce accountability, expectations, and follow-through

Guest Experience

Maintain a strong presence on the floor, especially during peak periods
Ensure every guest has a positive, consistent experience across both food and beverage
Resolve issues quickly and professionally
Set the tone for hospitality, energy, and team engagement

Financial & Performance Management

Support labor management, scheduling, and cost control
Assist with inventory, ordering, and waste reduction (food + beverage)
Understand key metrics (labor %, food cost %, beverage cost %, sales trends)
Identify issues early and help drive solutions

Administrative & Systems Support

Support payroll, scheduling, and compliance processes
Assist with inventory counts, reporting, and documentation
Maintain clear communication with Managing Partner and leadership team
Execute systems consistently — not create one-off workarounds

Qualifications

2+ years of restaurant management experience (high-volume preferred)
Experience in a restaurant with a bar or alcohol service program required
Strong understanding of responsible alcohol service and compliance
Strong leadership and communication skills
Experience training and developing team members
Ability to stay organized and execute in a fast-paced environment
Experience with POS systems (Toast preferred)
Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays required)
