Island Creek Oysters is a multi-platform farm-to-table business. At its core, it is a group of people who love oysters. It is a small group of talented, and highly motivated individuals who come to work every day excited to shape the destiny of a growing business. In just a short time, Island Creek has grown into a thriving direct-to-chef business, e-commerce platform, a catering division, restaurant and two brick-and-mortar raw bars in Maine and Massachusetts.

The Assistant General Manager, The Winsor House, reports directly to the General Manager, The Winsor House

The Winsor House is an exciting restaurant furthering the Island Creek guest experience and community growth at our farm and HQ on the Duxbury waterfront. This restaurant team works with world-class seafood, local purveyors and the ICO team to create a one of a kind restaurant. This role requires high level, organizational skills, the ability to juggle a wide variety of tasks/projects, and the ability to not only be an effective manager but a team leader.

The Role:

Oversee daily FOH operations across The Winsor House, in partnership with the management team
Advocate for truly great guest experiences, as reflective of the ICO product and mission
Be a compelling leader, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment

Work with GMs to hire team, setting goals and expectations for 2024 / 2025 season and beyond
Participate and lead in all management responsibilities to include staff scheduling, training, coaching, discipline, ordering & inventory, guest relations and care of the restaurant space.
Coordinate and oversee all details and communication regarding large party reservations and Winsor House private events.
Lead product education initiatives on a daily basis and with thought to continual staff development and education
Explore both quick and easy product education as well as longer format content
Oversee staff daily, planning in-times, breaks & departures for staff members
Manage labor costs, making smart decisions daily, with attention to sales and business level
Field customer concerns in service and digitally, creating a dialogue when possible and further supporting guest relations and the creation of regulars
Work collaboratively with General Managers & ICO for the global good
Complete other responsibilities and duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

Comfortable working alone/ large degree of autonomy

Highest level attention to detail/ organizational skills
Ability to build meaningful and effective relationships from a satellite location

Ability to prioritize/manage a variety of different tasks

Drive and ambition
Must be comfortable standing/walking for 8 hours; and be able to bend, push, pull and/or lift 30 lbs.
