Full Job Description

$50,000 to start, full benefits, and we will train you from zero.

EcoClean is a family-owned restoration company in Downers Grove. When a pipe bursts at 2am or a basement floods on a Sunday, we are the company that answers. We have been doing it since 2012, we hold 4.9 stars across more than 1,600 Google reviews, and a project manager is on site anywhere in Chicagoland within 60 to 90 minutes.

Right now one of the owners answers the emergency phone himself. We are hiring the person who takes that over.

This is a first-job-out-of-school position. We are not looking for restoration experience. We are looking for someone sharp, organized, and unflappable on the phone, and we will teach you the rest.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You are the first voice a homeowner hears on the worst day of their year. Someone calls with water coming through the ceiling, and your job is to keep them calm, get the details right, and get a project manager moving.

During the day you run dispatch and the front of the office:

Answer the phone and respond to website, text, and email leads
Take intake on new losses: what happened, where, how bad, which insurance carrier
Get the job into our system and dispatch a project manager
Schedule estimates, crews, and follow-up visits across the Chicago area
Keep homeowners updated on a regular rhythm, so nobody has to chase us
Handle the everyday office work: documents, customer paperwork, filing, scheduling

On your rotation you carry the emergency line after hours: answer, get the details, dispatch the on-call project manager, and log the job. In a typical week that is three to five calls. Most nights are quiet. Storms are not.

You are never on that phone alone. One of the owners is the backup on every rotation, and if something is over your head at 1am, you call him.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Excellent on the phone. Warm, clear, and unrattled, including when the person on the other end is panicking or angry. This is the whole job.
Organized, with real follow-through. This seat lives or dies on nothing falling through the cracks.
A strong academic record. If you did well in school, put your GPA on your resume. We read it, and we treat it as evidence that you finish what you start.
Comfortable on a computer and quick to learn new software. We will teach you our systems.
Reliably reachable on your rotation nights and weekends.

No restoration or construction background required. No prior dispatch experience required. Customer service, front desk, retail, serving, campus jobs, internships all count. What we care about is how you sound on the phone and whether you follow through.

WHERE THIS GOES

$50,000 is where you start, not where you stay. We review pay as you take on more, and there is real room to grow. The office side of this company runs on claims documentation, estimating, and job costing, and the person in this seat is first in line to learn any of it. Restoration is a real trade with real credentials: our technicians and project managers work toward IICRC certification, and we will invest in you the same way. Prove you can run the phone and the schedule, and we will keep handing you more.

This is a career start, not a phone-answering job.

HOURS AND LOCATION

On-site in Downers Grove, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, plus a shared after-hours rotation. This is an in-office position. It is not remote and not hybrid.
