Job Overview
A1 Septic Installers is a locally trusted installer of advanced septic and wastewater treatment systems serving Blount, Knox, Sevier, and surrounding counties.
Our team installs and services advanced wastewater treatment systems, including pump systems, drip dispersal fields, and aerobic treatment units for residential and commercial properties.
We are seeking a reliable Environmental Systems Technician to assist with installation and maintenance of these systems in the field.
This role involves a combination of equipment operation, pipe installation, trenching, and system setup depending on site conditions.
The role offers an opportunity to learn a specialized environmental trade, with clear paths for advancement into equipment operation, system installation, and service diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of septic tanks, pump tanks, and treatment systems
- Install pipe, manifolds, and drip dispersal lines
- Hand trench drip fields where equipment access is limited
- Assist with mini-excavator and skid steer operations
- Support pump and control panel installation
- Load materials and maintain organized job sites
- Assist with maintenance visits and system troubleshooting
- Follow safety procedures and jobsite requirements
Work Environment
Projects often take place on:
- mountain properties
- residential lots
- cabins and resort communities
- environmentally sensitive sites
- commercial-scale projects, including large residential and development installations
Work includes both equipment work and hands-on installation, depending on terrain and site conditions.
Technicians are involved in building complete wastewater systems, from excavation through final system startup.
Compensation
- Starting Pay: $20 – $25 per hour depending on experience
- Production Bonus Opportunities: Technicians can often average $35–$50 per hour during drip installation and trenching work

Requirements
- Valid driver's license required
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Plumbing Experience
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical work
- Basic mechanical aptitude preferred
- Experience operating mini-excavators or skid steers (applicants with equipment experience will be prioritized)
- Construction or excavation experience preferred
