Staff Accountant – Public Accounting

Are you looking for a Staff Accountant position where you can grow your accounting career and gain hands-on experience in tax preparation, bookkeeping, and client advisory services?

We are a small, established CPA firm providing tax and accounting services for individuals and small businesses. You’ll have the opportunity to learn the full picture — from financial statements and reconciliations to individual and business tax returns.

In a larger accounting firm, it can be easy to become focused on one small area. Here, you’ll work directly with experienced CPA leadership, communicate with clients, and gain valuable public accounting experience.

We offer a supportive, in-office environment where collaboration happens every day, your questions are encouraged, and your contributions make a real difference.

What you’ll do:

Manage bookkeeping, account reconciliations, financial statements, and client accounting services
Prepare individual and business tax returns with guidance and mentorship from senior staff
Assist small business clients with accounting questions and day-to-day support
Help improve workflows, processes, and technology systems as our firm continues to grow

Who we’re looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
1–3 years of public accounting experience preferred
Experience with QuickBooks, ProSeries, and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to client confidentiality
Ability to work independently while knowing when to collaborate and ask questions
