Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Clerk to join our dynamic Accounting team 3 days per week (days vary each week). In this role, you will be responsible for processing and managing all aspects of accounts payable functions, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers. Your expertise in SAGE accounting systems, financial concepts, and data entry will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our financial records.

This is a Part Time job, 3 days per week at $18.00/hour. Days are variable.

Responsibilities

Process invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders with precision, ensuring accuracy in data entry and adherence to company policies.
Reconcile vendor statements and perform account analysis to identify discrepancies or issues requiring resolution.
Manage accounts payable transactions using various financial SAGE software.
Assist in the preparation of journal entries related to accounts payable activities and perform balance sheet reconciliations regularly.
Collaborate with internal departments to verify expense coding, approve payments, and resolve invoice discrepancies efficiently.
Maintain detailed records of all transactions, ensuring proper documentation for audit purposes and adherence to GAAP standards.

Skills

Strong understanding of accounting principles including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
Proficiency in SAGE.
Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; familiarity with 10 key typing and Excel data analysis for reporting purposes.
Ability to interpret financial concepts such as account analysis, budgeting, credit analysis, and tax experience preferred.
Strong numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for account reconciliation and journal entries.
Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and ensure smooth processing of invoices and payments.
