Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic outpatient mental health team as a dedicated Outpatient Therapist, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive psychological services to diverse populations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical expertise in psychotherapy, behavioral therapy, and crisis management to support individuals across the lifespan. You will work in a collaborative environment focused on patient-centered care, empowering clients to achieve their mental health goals through evidence-based practices and compassionate support.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately document clinical findings.
Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety and stabilize acute mental health episodes.
Develop personalized treatment plans integrating psychopharmacology insights and behavioral management techniques tailored to each client’s needs.
Maintain meticulous medical records and documentation compliant with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of medical terminology and records.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including social workers, case managers, educators, and medical professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Engage in clinical research activities when applicable, contributing to data collection efforts that support program development and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Master’s degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related mental health field from an accredited institution.
Valid licensure or certification as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent in the state of practice.
Proven experience working with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics or individuals with developmental disabilities in outpatient settings.
Strong knowledge of behavioral health interventions including trauma-informed care for PTSD and grief counseling.
Experience with telehealth platforms and delivering services remotely is highly preferred.
Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical documentation standards.
Ability to manage crisis situations effectively while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
