Marketing Lead - B2B Technology & Integration

About IDS

IoT Deployment Services, Inc. is a growing technology deployment company helping enterprise clients modernize buildings and operations through connected technology.

Our work includes LED lighting, lighting controls, HVAC controls, energy monitoring, IoT sensors, cameras, battery storage, architectural lighting, and smart building infrastructure. IDS specializes in taking complex technology initiatives and making them real in the field — from planning and coordination to installation, execution, and support.

We are building a company positioned around building technology, energy efficiency, connected infrastructure, and large-scale deployment execution.

Position Overview

IDS is looking for a Marketing Lead - B2B Technology & Integration to build and lead our marketing function from the ground up.

This is a leadership role, but also a very hands-on role. We are not looking for someone who only tells us what needs to be done. We need someone who can understand our business, identify the right marketing priorities, create the plan, and execute the work.

Today, IDS has very limited internal marketing knowledge. We need someone who can step into leadership discussions, help shape our messaging, challenge our thinking, and drive marketing efforts that support growth.

This will initially be a one-person marketing department, with the ability to use outside vendors, freelancers, or agencies when needed. The right person must be comfortable leading strategy while also writing content, managing campaigns, improving our website presence, supporting sales, and tracking results.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute IDS’s marketing strategy and 12-month roadmap
Clarify IDS’s brand positioning, messaging, and value proposition
Improve how IDS explains what we do, who we serve, and why we are different
Create and manage marketing content, including website copy, case studies, LinkedIn posts, email campaigns, sales collateral, and presentations
Support business development with better materials, campaigns, and client-facing messaging
Identify target industries, audiences, and decision-makers
Build campaigns that generate awareness, engagement, leads, and sales support
Turn completed projects and internal expertise into marketable stories and proof points
Manage outside marketing resources when needed
Establish marketing metrics and report on results

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a marketing builder. They can create strategy, but they are also willing and able to do the work.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, direct, organized, creative, and results-oriented. This person should be confident enough to challenge leadership, but practical enough to operate in a growing company where the marketing function is not already built.

Qualifications

5+ years of marketing experience, preferably in B2B, technology, construction, energy, building systems, facilities, real estate, engineering, or professional services
Strong writing, messaging, and content development skills
Ability to understand technical or complex services and translate them into clear market-facing language
Experience creating and executing marketing campaigns
Experience supporting sales teams with collateral, presentations, campaigns, and lead-generation efforts
Familiarity with LinkedIn, email marketing, website content, SEO basics, and digital marketing fundamentals
Ability to manage priorities independently
Experience working with vendors, freelancers, agencies, or creative resources
Comfortable working directly with senior leadership

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following is a plus:

Building technology
IoT or smart buildings
Energy efficiency
Lighting or lighting controls
HVAC controls
Low-voltage systems
Commercial real estate
Facilities management
Construction or field services
Enterprise B2B services
Technology deployment

Application Requirement

In addition to a resume, applicants must submit a brief 12-month marketing plan for IDS.

The plan should explain:

What IDS should focus on first from a marketing perspective
What the first 30, 60, and 90 days would look like
What a 12-month marketing program could include
What should be done in-house versus outsourced
What channels and tactics they would recommend
How they would support sales and business development
What results they would measure
What success should look like after one year

The plan does not need to be overly long, but it should show how the applicant thinks, prioritizes, executes, and measures results. Email your resume and marketing plan to [email protected].
