About the Role:

The Medical Records position plays a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate and confidential patient health information within healthcare facilities. This role ensures that medical records are complete, organized, and accessible to authorized personnel, supporting effective patient care and compliance with legal and regulatory standards. The individual in this position will be responsible for the secure handling of sensitive data, facilitating smooth communication between healthcare providers, and contributing to the overall efficiency of healthcare operations. By maintaining meticulous records, the role supports clinical decision-making, billing processes, and quality assurance initiatives. Ultimately, this position is essential for safeguarding patient privacy while enabling timely and accurate information flow across the healthcare system.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required
Familiarity with medical terminology, healthcare documentation standards, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Basic knowledge of healthcare privacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA compliance.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to accurately manage large volumes of sensitive information.
Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and EHR software.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a healthcare setting with exposure to medical coding and billing processes.
Advanced knowledge of electronic health record systems and data management software.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to facilitate the retrieval and exchange of medical information.
Update and archive records as necessary and assist in audits and quality control processes to maintain data integrity.
