Overview

Temp to perm for qualified candidates.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of precision machining equipment to produce high-quality metal and plastic components. This role is essential in ensuring that parts meet strict specifications, tolerances, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in CNC programming, and experience with precision measurement tools. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes within a dynamic environment committed to excellence.

Duties

Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM programming software such as SolidWorks and CAD tools.
Operate CNC milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other precision machining equipment including Fanuc controls.
Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces accurately using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
Perform precision measurements and quality inspections to ensure parts conform to GD&T standards and customer specifications.
Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
Utilize hand tools and power tools for assembly, welding, or finishing processes as needed.
Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
Maintain detailed records of machining processes, measurements, and inspection results for quality control.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements or tooling modifications.

Skills

CNC programming including G-code, M-code, and CNC G-code programming techniques.
Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of blueprint reading and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes for complex part fabrication.
Familiarity with CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming for toolpath generation.
Ability to operate precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of metal machining techniques and plastics injection molding processes.
Experience with CNC lathe and milling machines equipped with Fanuc controls or equivalent systems.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, grinders, welders, and tooling setups.
Knowledge of measurement techniques for quality control including measurement (quality control) procedures.
Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, and speeds.
Ability to interpret complex technical documents such as GD&T specifications.
Experience working with forklift trucks for material handling within manufacturing environments.
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction.
