Summary :

The RN Manager, Nursing Professional Practice & Magnet provides leadership and direction for nursing professional practice, Magnet program initiatives, and regulatory compliance. This role is responsible for maintaining Magnet designation, advancing evidence-based practice, professional governance, nursing policies and procedures, and quality improvement initiatives. The manager partners with nursing leadership, educators, and clinical teams to support professional development programs, including the clinical ladder, peer review, nurse residency, and student experiences, while ensuring compliance with Ohio Board of Nursing standards and regulatory requirements. This leader also provides oversight and development for a team of hospital educators, fostering excellence in nursing practice and patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:

Formal Education Required:

Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree will be considered but are required to obtain MSN within three (3) years of employment
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or a school accepted for candidacy status from an accrediting body
Current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio

Experience and Training Required:

If Bachelor’s, four (4) years related professional experience OR
If Master’s, degree two (2) years related professional experience OR
Doctor of Nursing Practice in lieu of experience requirement.
Professional Certification in Nursing Specialty
Demonstrated leadership qualities
Experience in evidence-based practice performance improvement methodologies
Experience in nursing education and training program development preferred
Experience in Magnet Recognition Program

Ability to work well within a team environment by accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback, supporting team goals and encouraging collegial relationships with others
P ossess critical thinking ability. Demonstrates highly developed oral and written communication skills. Possess interpersonal competence. Possess the ability to summarize, format, interpret, analyze and utilize date appropriately.
Must possess knowledge and understanding of quality issues in healthcare.
Ability to aggregate, display and present clinical and administrative data professionally through use of automated systems and graphs.
Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers with the understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity

Level of Physical Demands:

Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and /or a negligible amount of force frequently
