Full Job Description

Job description:

We are a flooring contractor in Doral looking for a Lead Estimator with an Accounting background.

We will train you in plan takeoff and estimating software but must have excellent excel knowledge. If you are not proficient in excel, do not apply.

You must be an analytical thinker, with attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Review project plans, specifications, and requests for proposals (RFPs) to determine the scope of work.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for flooring installation in new construction projects, including material, labor, and other associated costs.
Collaborate with property managers to assess the needs for flooring replacement in entire apartments or portions of it, providing accurate estimates accordingly.
Analyze and interpret construction drawings and blueprints to identify required materials, labor, and equipment.
Obtain and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Prepare and submit bids in a timely manner, ensuring all client requirements are met.
Communicate with project managers and clients to clarify project details and resolve any discrepancies.
Update and maintain a database of historical costs for reference in future estimates.
Monitor project budgets and provide ongoing support to project teams to ensure costs are controlled.
Assist in the preparation of contracts and negotiate with clients and suppliers.
Stay current with industry trends, materials, and best practices to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.

Qualifications:

Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent Excel skills.
A degree in Accounting.

Working Conditions:

Office-based with occasional site visits to assess project requirements.
May involve travel to meet with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
