Position Description:
Final Assembly is responsible for ensuring compliance with standard work procedures and fostering a safe work environment to maximize production efficiency and safety. The position encompasses active participation in specialized work, demanding a strong focus on both efficiency and safety protocols.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Perform basic soldering on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and other solder subassemblies, including components and wires.
- Assemble intricate mechanical, electromechanical assemblies.
- Work with a variety of components such as electronic parts, PCBs, custom metal chassis, plates, boxes, screws, nuts, and wires.
- Place small components and wires onto PCBs.
- Achieve proficiency in Assembly I & II tasks while maintaining standard production rates.
- Operate and utilize machinery, hand tools, small power tools.
- Review work orders to ensure the availability of necessary materials, tools, equipment, and resources for production.
- Assemble standard and customized boards and units by interpreting process documentation.
- Understand and apply information from samples, technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and both written and verbal instructions.
- Review work orders and verify material requirements based on verbal instructions.
- Follow assigned production work orders and carry out scheduled operations, promptly reporting any discrepancies.
- Apply coating, potting and other adhesive materials for circuit boards and assemblies.
- Assemble systems and install various components.
- Execute standard procedures such as wire stripping, crimping, and applying heat shrink tubing.
- Modify and repair wires, label wires.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Affix correct identification labels to product boxes and component containers according to work instructions.
- Execute fundamental, standardized, and repetitive assembly operations.
- Label components, assemblies, or subassemblies.
- Perform wire routing, cutting, and soldering.
- Apply epoxy and other adhesives.
- Assemble wire harnesses and ribbon cables to PCB assemblies.
- Perform final box build assembly using hand and power tools.
- Perform trimming, clipping, and tinning of wires and leads.
- Organize materials and use required tools with accuracy and high-quality workmanship.
- Mask and demask printed circuit boards for coating, potting or other adhesive applications.
- Apply conformal coating to circuit boards as shown in customer documentation in conjunction with current industry standing.
- Dispense and proper cure potting material as shown in customer documentation in conjunction with current industry standing.
- Operate curing ovens as required and suggested by manufacturer specifications.
- Transport materials, components, and finished goods between departments as needed.
- Achieve optimal production efficiency, productivity, and accuracy in item fabrication.
- Follow internal assembly process documentation ensuring product meets internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering to create and refine first time build processes.
- Adhere to the company’s ISO Quality Management System.
- Act upon feedback from quality.
- Facilitate cross-training for current and new production staff.
- Provide employee coaching and development within the area.
- Depanel circuit board assemblies using motorized cutters and nibblers
- Assign work daily for direct reports.
- Review and disposition nonconforming product and determine appropriate resolution.
- Attend production meetings as required.
- Mentor and guide coworkers/new hires as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies by adhering to all established safety protocols and ESD procedures to protect sensitive electronic components.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Computer literacy is essential, along with the ability to read, write, review, and approve documentation.

Desired Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
- Experience in a manufacturing/assembly and soldering work-related environment required. Solder Certification and experience preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and skills using hand tools, small power tools, and soldering iron
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, prints, and engineering documentation.
- Skill in performing basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to distinguish colors for color coding practices.
- Ability to perform detailed repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
- Attentive to detail with good planning and time management skills, and willing to assume a variety of production/assembly-related tasks.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and J-STD standards is required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Physical Requirements: Employees will regularly alternate between standing and sitting according to the needs of each job or task being performed and will also endure lengthy periods of sitting, standing and walking. Tasks require bending, as well as pushing and pulling equipment throughout the facility and operating various warehouse equipment. Proficiency with computer skills is also essential and may require the employee to stand or sit while using the computer. Due to the physically intensive nature of this role, employees should anticipate spending the majority of their work hours on physical tasks.
This position demands significant physical capability and stamina to effectively execute job duties. The role requires consistent participation in diverse physical tasks throughout each workday, including but not limited to:
- Mobility: Frequent walking and sitting with the adaptability to transition between positions as necessary.
- Balance: Maintaining equilibrium during activities.
- Ascent: May require climbing ladders and stairs.
- Floor-Level Operation: Crawling and crouching for access and task completion.
- Operation: Driving when necessary for job-related tasks.
- Knee Work: Kneeling as needed.
- Lifting: Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials, with a capacity of up to 60 pounds.
- Reach: Extending arms and torso to various heights, encompassing below, at, and above shoulder level.
- Repetition: Engaging in repetitive motions involving the hands, arms, and other body parts.
- Pushing/Pulling: Pushing or pulling carts, trays, equipment, tools, etc. in accordance to job needs.

Regular operating hours are established as 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend work may be required contingent upon business demands.
