Full Job Description

High Stack Gordon Wight, one of Florida's oldest personal injury law firms, is seeking to grow our Melbourne, Florida office.

High Stack is seeking an Attorney for their well-established Plaintiff's personal injury law firm in Melbourne, Florida. We value intangible elements, including your contribution to the collective brain trust and the ability to work respectfully and honestly with our team, which is composed of highly skilled professionals, many of whom have been with the firm for decades. You will be a good fit if you endeavor to do your best for your clients. While trial experience is preferred, a strong desire to gain it is essential.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues related to litigation cases
- Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediation, trials, and other legal proceedings
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution methods
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding their rights and obligations
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to develop case strategies

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

- (0-5 Years’ Experience)
- Active license to practice law in Florida
- Strong knowledge of legal research methods and resources, such as LexisNexis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear and concise advice
- Strong negotiation and advocacy skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- A willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
- Prior experience in litigation, civil or otherwise, is a plus
- Prior appellate practice is a plus
- Prior federal practice is a plus
