Job Description

We are seeking an Operations Quality Specialist to support quality assurance, food safety, and manufacturing operations. This role will work closely with Quality and Production teams to ensure finished products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain quality assurance and food safety programs.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, BRC, EQMS, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Provide quality and food safety support to Production and Quality departments.
Assist management with maintaining and improving quality systems.
Monitor corrective and preventive actions and follow up on quality and product safety events.
Prepare and maintain documentation required for internal and external audits.
Perform positive release activities and complete related HACCP record reviews.
Support external warehouse inventory management and product tracking.
Maintain quality documentation and complete updates within electronic systems and SharePoint.
Assist with laboratory equipment calibration and related quality activities.
Support the development and delivery of quality and food safety training.
Provide backup support to Quality Supervisors and assist with laboratory operations.
Track non-conforming products, downgrades, and specification deviations.
Assist with product specification updates and quality-related documentation.
Manage customer product samples and maintain appropriate records.
Manage the Document Control Program.
Coordinate lot tracking and traceability exercises.
Assist with Environmental Monitoring Programs.
Manage and support GMP audit programs.
Identify quality issues, assist with troubleshooting, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties and quality-related responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Associate Degree or higher, preferably in Food Science, Dairy Science, or a related field.
Strong background in Quality Assurance and food safety, preferably within a food or dairy manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, BRC, quality systems, auditing, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong teaching, influencing, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, sound judgment, and a high level of initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, or a related discipline.
Experience working in a food, dairy, or manufacturing quality environment.
Experience with quality audits, environmental monitoring, document control, and product traceability.
Experience with electronic quality management systems and related documentation platforms.

Physical & Work Environment

Ability to occasionally walk, sit, reach, stoop, balance, and climb stairs or ladders.
Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds.
Ability to work in environments where temperatures may fluctuate from cool/cold to warm/hot.
Manufacturing areas may have elevated noise levels and require hearing protection.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when working in manufacturing areas.
Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing/production environment.

Food, dairy, or manufacturing quality environment: 3 years (Preferred)
Quality Assurance and food safety: 3 years (Preferred)
