Morton HR Group is a strategic HR advisory and consulting firm specializing recruiting for small to mid-sized businesses. We work directly with leadership teams to align people strategies with business objectives through hands-on partnership.

Our client is a growing, reputable CPA firm known for its collaborative, close-knit culture and dedication to client service. They provide comprehensive tax planning and assurance services to a diverse portfolio of business and high-net-worth individual clients. The are seeking a Bookkeeper with CPA firm experience to join their team.

Role Description

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, and preparing client books for tax preparation and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple client engagements while delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

Entering and maintaining client financial transactions in QuickBooks Online, including bank activity, deposits, checks, credit card transactions, and journal entries.
Performing bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations for multiple client accounts.Reviewing client bookkeeping records for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Adjusting journal entries and bookkeeping write-ups.
Assisting with month-end and year-end bookkeeping, including preparing supporting workpapers for tax engagements.
Assisting with payroll processing, payroll tax reporting, and sales tax filings, as applicable.
Communicating with clients to obtain documentation and resolve bookkeeping questions.
Maintaining organized electronic workpapers and support accountants with tax season and other client accounting projects.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferre
2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience at a CPA firm
Experience working with multiple client accounts in a CPA firm
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
Understanding of basic accounting principles and account reconciliations.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.Excellent communication and client service skills.
