Full Job Description

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a Tax Accountant that specializes in tax planning and preparation for individuals and businesses. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of related experience and provide expert tax guidance, ensure compliance, maintain existing client relationships and build new ones. The position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced but family-friendly environment that includes a positive work-life balance. This role was created to support company growth.

Essential Responsibilities:

Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses.
Conduct tax research to stay informed about changing tax laws and regulations.
Advise clients on tax strategies for tax savings and reductions.
Assess tax return changes and resolve amendments.
Assist staff accountants and seasonal tax preparers on tax-related matters.
Stay updated on tax law, regulations and trends.

Preferred Experience and Education:

7+ Years experience in individual and business tax preparation.
Ability to obtain a valid PTIN is required.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory guidelines.
Experience with Microsoft office products and accounting software.
Experience with UltraTax software a plus.
Enrolled agent a plus.
