Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time Front Office / Exam Technician in Training, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting clinical operations. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with intake procedures to ensure smooth check-in experiences
- Measure and record vital health history
- Prepare exam rooms using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment for patient examinations
- Assist optometrist and technicians during eye exams by setting up equipment and ensuring proper operation of optical devices
- Manage medical records accurately within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering phones, insurance verification and data entry
- Maintain inventory of supplies related to patient exams and clinical procedures, ensuring readiness for daily operations
Requirements
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or retail sales is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with EMR systems or similar platforms is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records and clinic documentation
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information following HIPAA guidelines with integrity and discretion
- Excellent communication skills bilingual English/Spanish to interact effectively with patients, team members, and healthcare professionals
- Enthusiasm for learning about optometry, medical coding, billing processes, and clinic workflows
