Position: Shift Supervisor Vinny’s Coffee is seeking enthusiastic and service-driven Baristas to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, quality coffee, and creating a welcoming environment for every guest. As a supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional beverages, maintaining high operational standards, and contributing to a positive team culture. Effectively execute all job duties listed, manage unexpected events, and effectively communicate the store goals with planning, direction and training. Uphold core values in all actions and processes while embodying the mission of Saint Vincent de Paul. The enthusiasm and culture of SVdP must be lived and communicated throughout the store, staff, volunteers and community.
Reports to: Cafe Manager and Director of Stores
Status: Full / Part time; Hourly
Position Summary
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso beverages, coffee, and food items to company standards
- Provide friendly, attentive, and engaging customer service, greeting customers moments upon entrance.
- Learn and maintain knowledge of specialty coffee, brewing methods, and menu offerings while educating customers and team members
- Accurately take orders and process cash and credit transactions including opening day and closing day deposits
- Operate and clean espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace
- Follow and enforce all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Assist with inventory management, restocking, and daily prep tasks
- Support team members and contribute to a collaborative work environment
- Assign opening, closing, and shift duties as needed
Basic Qualifications
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
- Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodations
- Six (6) months of experience in a position that required constant interacting with and fulfilling the requests of customers
- Prepare and coach the preparation of food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients
- At least six (6) months of experience delegating tasks to other employees and/or coordinating the tasks of two (2) or more employees
Physical Requirements:
- List physical requirements of job both daily and occasionally include and sensory exposure
- Standing for extended periods of 8+ hours
- Lifting over 20lbs while bending, twisting and moving
- Must be available on weekends; 20 hours weekly
