Job Description:

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Telecom Construction Manager to oversee and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in telecom construction management and demonstrate proficiency in various construction management software. This role requires effective leadership, excellent time management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams on construction sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years experience in telecom construction, with a strong focus on fiber optic networks and FTTH deployments
In-depth knowledge of aerial and underground fiber installation methods (bore, trench, micro-trenching, etc.)
Familiarity with local permitting processes, utility coordination, and ROW (Right of Way) regulations
Proficient in construction documentation, as-builts, and redlining plans
Understanding of fiber splicing, testing, and OTDR reporting
Competence with project management software (Sitetracker) and Microsoft Office tools, (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Excellent communication, team leadership, and time-management skills
Valid driver's license, ability to travel to job sites regularly
OSHA 10/30 certification (preferred)

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Manage all phases of FTTH construction projects, including planning, execution, and closeout
Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, utility locators, inspectors, and internal construction crews
Ensure timely delivery of work within budget while maintaining safety and quality standards
Monitor field activity, verify job progress, and resolve any issues or delays in real time
Ensure proper installation of duct, conduit, handholes, and fiber per design specifications
Conduct job site visits and inspections to verify workmanship and compliance with local codes and client standards
Review construction prints, manage redlines, and submit as-built documentaiton
Track materials, equipment, and manpower to ensure proper resource allocation
Maintain clear and consistent communication with project stakeholders and clients
Enforce safety policies and conduct toolbox talks and site safety inspections
