Full Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

We are seeking a hospitality-focused and organized individual to join our team as an Overnight Door Attendant. The Door Attendant is responsible for providing a warm and welcoming first impression to guests, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction from the moment they arrive at the establishment. This role involves greeting guests, assisting with luggage, and coordinating with other staff to ensure seamless guest experiences. Overnight Door Attendants additionally provide security presence, monitor access, and support late-night guest services to ensure safety and comfort during overnight hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

Warmly welcome all guests arriving at the hotel, opening doors, and providing a courteous and friendly greeting.
Help guests with their luggage upon arrival and departure, ensuring it is handled with care and delivered promptly.
Assist guests in arranging transportation, including taxis, shuttles, and valet services, and provide directions as needed.
Keep the entrance, lobby, and surrounding areas clean, organized, and free of hazards, ensuring a welcoming environment at all times.
Monitor and report any suspicious activities or security concerns to the appropriate personnel to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring all issues are resolved to the guest's satisfaction.
Work closely with the front desk, bell services, and concierge teams to provide seamless guest service and support hotel operations.

Overnight Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for guests arriving or departing during overnight hours.
Monitor and secure all entrances and exits throughout the night, ensuring only authorized persons have access to the premises.
Conduct regular patrols of the property and report any unusual activity or maintenance issues to management or security.
Assist with late-night check-ins and luggage service in coordination with night audit or front desk staff.
Respond promptly to any emergency situations or safety concerns during overnight hours.
Ensure the lobby and entrance areas remain presentable and secure throughout the night.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in the hospitality industry, is an asset.
Maintain an alert and attentive demeanor at all times, especially during overnight hours.
Ability to answer the entrance telephone and provide clear and accurate information to guests and employees.
The ability to communicate clear directions to nearby local attractions, facilities, and services.
Answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information regarding outlet hours, other services, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, airline shuttle service, etc.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Capability to lift and carry heavy luggage and other items, sometimes up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in various weather conditions as needed.
Willingness and availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by hotel operations.
