Pay Rate: Starting at $20.00/hr
Shift: 1st shift/morning

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our client's manufacturing team in Phoenix, AZ. The Laser Operator is responsible for safely operating laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality fabricated metal products while meeting production goals and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have CNC operation experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Essential Responsibilities

Perform laser cutting operations according to production specifications.
Select appropriate cutting programs, fixtures, and tooling for each job.
Set up machines, establish proper stop locations, and adjust laser beam focal points.
Perform machine setups and adjustments to ensure accurate production.
Complete required preventative maintenance and report equipment issues.
Perform dimensional inspections using gauges and measurement tools to verify tolerances.
Identify and report defective materials or quality concerns to the supervisor.
Stage and organize raw materials needed for daily production.
Maintain inventory accuracy for raw materials.
Monitor machine operations and ensure production schedules are met.
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist with additional fabrication tasks as production needs require, including Press Brake, Punch, Laser, and other fabrication processes.

Qualifications & Requirements

CNC machine operation experience or related technical training preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
Knowledge of metal materials and fabrication processes.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience using gauges and measurement tools to verify product specifications.
Ability to operate a forklift safely (certification preferred).
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Calendar, Word, Excel, and Teams.
Strong communication skills, including active listening and the ability to follow instructions.
Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, measurements, geometry, and basic algebra.

Preferred Skills

Experience with laser cutting equipment.
Fabrication experience (Press Brake, Punch, CNC, or similar equipment).
Experience working in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing production priorities.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive manufacturing tasks.
Ability to lift, move, and stage raw materials as needed.
Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while following all safety guidelines.
