Chef de Cuisine / Kitchen Manager

Are you a highly skilled and motivated Chef de Cuisine / Kitchen Manager looking for an immediate opportunity in the food and beverage industry? Do you have a passion for culinary and a commitment to delivering the highest quality standards? If yes, then we have the perfect job for you!

At Common Bond Cafe, we believe that good food brings people together and creates a common bond. With 11 locations across Houston, we have become a gathering place for the community to enjoy delicious food, extraordinary pastries, and custom cakes. As a Chef de Cuisine / Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for the overall kitchen operation, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction through your leadership, organization, and commitment to quality.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints
Make recommendations for succession planning
Ensure exceptional dining experiences for guests
Maintain sufficient quantity and quality of food stock
Ensure team members are presentable and in clean uniforms
Ensure safe and correct use of food preparation equipment
Prepare and update culinary operations manuals
Adhere to operational budgets and control food costs
Plan and lead effective meetings
Prepare food for each restaurant, including catering orders
Initiate and follow up on maintenance reports and work orders
Manage and motivate team members
Project a positive and motivated attitude among team members
Work with the Executive Corporate Chef to ensure high-quality products
Administer and update work schedules and timecards
Motivate the culinary department and provide positive feedback
Coach and counsel team members in accordance with company policy
Act as manager on duty as scheduled
Identify strengths and weaknesses and provide timely feedback
Perform various tasks within the store during each shift
Additional duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may apply

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong knowledge of food and beverage
Creativity, culinary aptitude, and passion for working with food
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Administrative and computer experience
Ability to understand and carry out instructions
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to build and maintain relationships
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Qualifications

At least 5+ years of experience in a similar capacity
Ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on quality and customer service
Clear communication with managers, kitchen, service team members, and guests
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a standing position for long periods
Expectation to work 50 hours per week
Serve-Safe or Houston Food Managers Certificate required
