Full Job Description

The company is now accelerating its development within the US market, particularly in the reusable, long-life container segment. With nearly 75 years of expertise in designing and manufacturing shipping and storage containers for civil and defense markets, Champion GSE has earned a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative products.

We have an immediate full-time career opening for a Senior Accountant at our growing company. The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the full accounts payable cycle, supporting month-end and year-end close, preparing journal entries, performing bank and general ledger reconciliations, maintaining fixed assets and intercompany transactions, supporting audits, and ensuring the accuracy of the Company's financial records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Manage the full Accounts Payable process, including invoice review, coding, approvals, vendor payments, and payment reconciliations.

2. Support and actively participate in month-end and year-end closing activities.

3. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.

4. Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations.

5. Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.

6. Reconcile inter company transactions and balances across multiple entities.

7. Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.

8. Assist with cash flow management and weekly payment runs.

9. Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.

10. Work closely with Operations, Purchasing, Logistics, and other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.

11. Assist in preparing financial reports and analyses for management.

12. Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP.

13. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

14. Cross-train and provide backup support for other accounting functions as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

 Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.

 Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and generally accepted accounting principles.

 Extensive Accounts Payable experience, including vendor reconciliations and payment processing.

 Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Sage experience is a Plus.

 Experience with month-end close, bank reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations.

 Strong understanding of journal entries, debits and credits, accruals, fixed assets, and depreciation.
