Help turn a growing network of community agriculture projects into organized, measurable impact.

Location: South Florida | Hybrid + statewide travel

Job Type: Part-time, approximately 20 hours/week

Compensation: $25/hour | W-2 | Overtime eligible

Term: September 2026 – June 30, 2027

About Neighborhood Farms USA

Neighborhood Farms USA is a Florida 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to strengthen the connection between people, food, and the land, one neighborhood at a time. We build and support neighborhood-scale farms and gardens, train new farmers through hands-on agricultural education, and help move fresh, locally grown food to the communities that need it.

This year, we are establishing 11–12 growing sites across Florida, training 40 Floridians in hands-on food production, and expanding fresh food access for more than 1,000 residents.

About the Position

We are looking for a highly organized and resourceful Program Assistant to help coordinate and document a growing network of community agriculture projects across Florida. This is not a desk-only administrative position. Some days you will work remotely organizing program records, coordinating schedules, and following up with partners. Other days you may be at a farm, garden, training session, or community event helping with logistics, working with participants, taking photos, and making sure we have the documentation we need. Our work this year is supported in part through State of Florida funding, which means good documentation is essential. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys both keeping things organized behind the scenes and being part of the work happening in the community.

What You’ll Be Doing

· Help coordinate activities across NFUSA farms, gardens, farmer-training programs, and partner projects throughout Florida.

· Coordinate scheduling, registration, materials, sign-in, logistics, and participant follow-up for workshops and events.

· Collect and organize records supporting grant reporting, including attendance records, completion certificates, expenditure documentation, timesheets, and site photos.

· Maintain organized partner files including agreements, W-9s, insurance certificates, reports, and other required documentation.

· Follow up with staff and partner organizations to collect missing information and keep deadlines on track.

· Capture photos and short video and help gather program updates for social media, newsletters, educational materials, and other NFUSA communications.

· Assist the Executive Director and program team with scheduling and general coordination.

· Attend site visits, workshops, farm events, and community programs throughout the season.

Who We’re Looking For

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent follow-through and the ability to keep track of multiple projects, deadlines, documents, and outstanding requests.

· Clear, friendly written and verbal communication.

· Comfort communicating with farmers, nonprofit partners, schools, community organizations, volunteers, and program participants.

· Comfort working with spreadsheets, shared drives, calendars, email, and digital records.

· Ability to work independently and take responsibility for getting things completed.

· Willingness to travel to farms, gardens, workshops, and community events.

· Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable vehicle for program travel.

· A specific degree is not required.

Experience That’s a Plus

· Nonprofit, community organization, or educational program experience.

· Program, workshop, or event coordination.

· Grant reporting, compliance, or recordkeeping experience.

· Strong writing and communication skills.

· Comfort taking good photos and short videos with a phone.

· Social media or newsletter experience.

· Interest in agriculture, sustainability, local food, food access, or community development.

· Spanish language skills.

Schedule, Location & Travel

Approximately 20 hours per week with a hybrid schedule combining remote work and in-person site visits, meetings, workshops, and events. Travel within Florida is required. Some weekend work is required during workshops and community events, particularly during the November–April growing season. Approved travel expenses are reimbursed.

Compensation & Benefits

· $25/hour.

· Three paid holidays.

· Five days of paid time off.

· Approved travel reimbursement.

· Health insurance is not currently offered.

· This is a grant-funded position through June 30, 2027. Continuation beyond the current grant period will depend on renewed funding.
