Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Product Development Specialist to join our creative team. In this role, you will drive the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptual design to manufacturing readiness, ensuring that innovative solutions meet market needs and brand standards. Your expertise in creative problem-solving will be vital in transforming ideas into tangible products that captivate consumers and elevate our brand presence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence product innovation across diverse categories while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

Range Ownership & Development

Own key categories/brands, becoming the expert in your space
Build seasonal and everyday ranges across all relevant price points and formats
Create trend-led, commercially viable concepts aligned to brand identity and customer needs
Prepare draft range plans including SKUs, RRPs, descriptions, packaging concepts and supplier recommendations

Trend & Market Insight

Identify emerging trends, formats and product opportunities
React quickly to trending items, working with suppliers to be first to market
Lead range kick-offs with insights, trends and consumer understanding

Customer-Specific Development

Respond to customer briefs with speed and accuracy
Source, cost and sample products to meet tight deadlines
Ensure best cost, quality and margin are achieved

Supplier Sourcing & Cost Management

Identify and evaluate suitable suppliers
Negotiate quotations and maintain competitive pricing
Work with Product Admin to maintain accurate specs and costings

Project Management & Communication

Set up Teams project chats and maintain clear cross-functional communication
Maintain up-to-date development range plans
Manage timelines and ensure smooth workflow

Artwork, Samples & Approvals

Review and approve product, packaging and presenter artwork
Manage sample timelines, feedback and approvals
Support sales with accurate LCS and presentation materials

Critical Path & Handover

Approve PPS samples and document all feedback
Confirm final pricing, specs and delivery dates with suppliers

Experience

Proven experience in product development or industrial design within a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical design principles related to Stationery or Toy product fabrication.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes including packaging design, fabrication techniques, and materials selection.
Experience conducting design research to inform innovative product solutions aligned with market trends.
