About the Role
Premier Fire Alarms is seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Installation Technician with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in fire alarm systems or a closely related trade (security, building automation, high voltage, etc.). In this role, you will work alongside a team of experienced professionals, contributing your expertise to the installation of fire alarm detection systems. All work must meet applicable safety codes and standards.
Our work spans Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties — keeping you close to home without long-distance travel. Project types include:
- Commercial and residential high-rise buildings
- New construction installations
- Retrofits and upgrades to existing systems
- Upfits and remodels within occupied facilities
This position is an integral part of our existing installation crews. New hires are paired with experienced team members during onboarding to support learning, confidence, and long-term success. As you demonstrate your skills and grow with the company, there is a clear path to advancement — including the opportunity to take on a Lead Technician role within the crew.

Work Schedule & Compensation
Standard Hours:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Overtime may be required from time to time to meet project completion requirements
Compensation:
- Salary/wage determined by experience and qualifications

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Installation Duties
- Install fire alarm detection systems in accordance with applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and project plans
- Run, terminate, and splice wire and cabling per code requirements
- Bend and install conduit (pipe bending) to route wiring per project specifications
- Collaborate professionally and effectively as a member of an installation crew
- Always maintain an organized and clean work environment, including job sites and storage areas
- Order equipment and materials as needed in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Document all work performed accurately and submit required reports upon project completion
- Apply knowledge of fire safety codes and NFPA standards to all installations
- Perform all installation duties safely and in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, including OSHA regulations
- Wear and properly use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by the company at all times on the job site
- Participate in ongoing company-provided safety training programs to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your team
Customer & Team Interaction
- Communicate professionally and courteously with customers and fellow employees at all times
- Represent Premier Fire Alarms with a commitment to quality, integrity, and customer satisfaction
- Support fellow crew members and contribute to a positive, high-performance team culture
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
APPLICANTS MUST MEET ALL REQUIREMENTS BELOW BEFORE APPLYING
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on installation experience in fire alarm systems or a closely related trade such as high-voltage electrical, security system installation, building automation and controls, or similar fields
- Prior fire alarm system knowledge and experience is a plus, but not required — relevant trade experience will be strongly considered
- Thorough understanding of applicable installation codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Experience running and splicing wire per code
- Experience bending and installing conduit
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid, clean driver’s license (required — company vehicles may be operated regularly)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
The following certifications are a plus and may be considered in compensation:
- Notifier Certified Technician
- EST (Edwards Systems Technology) Certified Technician
