About At Mine Hospitality

At Mine Hospitality operates boutique hotels with a focus on efficient operations, consistency, and strong guest experiences. Our team does best when people are warm with guests, organized in their work, and dependable in execution.

About the role

This is not a passive front desk position, and it isn't a traditional one either.

You won't be standing behind a counter for an entire shift. At Mine front desk agents move through the property — greeting guests in the lobby, supporting them in common areas, coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance, and handling check-ins, messaging, and follow-up across the day. The role blends warm guest interaction with structured admin work, and you'll switch between the two often.

This role is best for someone who likes hospitality, structure, and likes interacting with guest. Ideal for those starting out their hospitality careers.

What you'll do

Welcome guests in person, by phone, and through digital messaging
Build rapport with guests through engaging, meaningful interactions
Manage check-ins, check-outs, and reservation-related tasks
Move around the property as needed to support guests and the team
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance throughout the shift
Follow up on guest issues and help prevent repeat problems
Keep records, notes, and handoffs clear and accurate
Maintain a clean, organized guest-facing and back-office environment

Shift preview

Morning | 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM You start the day by getting organized. Reviewing arrivals, departures, room-readiness priorities, and any open issues from earlier shifts. Strong agents use this time to catch details early and start the shift with a clear plan.

Midday | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM Usually the busiest part of the shift. You may be checking guests in or out, responding to questions, updating room status, coordinating with other departments, and handling guest needs as they come in. You must be able to move quickly without losing accuracy.

Afternoon | 1:00 PM – 3:00/4:00 PM The later part of the shift focuses on follow-through. You'll complete required updates, document key guest or operational notes, assist in-house guests as needed, and leave a clean handoff for the next shift. A strong finish matters here.

Training

If selected, you'll begin with our 4-day Front Desk training class before moving to on-site training at your assigned property. Training is structured and required — class attendance and completion are part of the role.

You'll likely do well in this role if you:

enjoy structured workflows and daily routines
stay organized during a busy shift
genuinely like interacting with guests and can stay warm during shifts
can switch between guest service and admin/detail work
follow through without needing constant reminders

This role may not be a fit if you:

prefer minimal guest interaction
dislike documentation, checklists, or written updates
want a slower-paced desk job
dislike multitasking across systems and priorities
are looking for a short-term position

What we're looking for
Required:

1+ year of experience in a guest- or customer-facing role with structured administrative responsibility. Examples include: + hotel front desk, reservations, or night audit + concierge or boutique hospitality roles + medical or dental reception + leasing office or residential front desk + airport, cruise, or pier guest services + high-end retail with admin/operational responsibility
Strong service-oriented verbal and written communication
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Availability for weekends and holidays on a rotating basis
English fluency

Preferred:

Spanish fluency
Experience with hotel PMS (Cloudbeds, Opera, or similar)
Experience handling guest messaging, issue follow-up, or service recovery
Experience in boutique hotels or other, high-accountability environments
