Full Job Description

WOW Behavioral Health Services is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Authorization & Referral Coordinator to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone with experience in medical insurance authorizations, claims, referrals, and ABA or healthcare administration.

In-person
Responsibilities:

Submit initial and continued insurance authorization requests for ABA services.
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
Track authorization approvals, denials, and expiration dates.
Submit and follow up on insurance claims.
Resolve claim denials and work with insurance companies to obtain approvals.
Manage incoming referrals and coordinate the intake process.
Communicate with physicians, referral sources, insurance companies, and families.
Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
Work closely with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely service delivery.
Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum 1 year of experience with insurance authorizations, referrals, or medical claims.
Experience in ABA, behavioral health, home health, or a medical office preferred.
Knowledge of Medicaid and commercial insurance plans.
Experience working with insurance portals and authorization submissions.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Experience with ABA insurance authorizations.
Familiarity with Medicaid Managed Care plans, including Sunshine Health, Simply Healthcare, Community Care Plan (CCP), and Humana Healthy Horizons.
Experience handling insurance appeals and claim follow-up.
