Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Certified Direct Care Worker, where your compassionate care and hands-on support will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in dynamic settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, residential care homes, and community-based environments. As a vital member of our caregiving team, you will provide personalized assistance that promotes independence, safety, and well-being for residents with cognitive disabilities, memory care needs, and aging-related conditions. Your energetic approach and commitment to quality care will help create a warm, supportive environment where clients feel valued and respected. All positions are paid roles, including internships, emphasizing our dedication to fair compensation for essential work.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability.
Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines.
Engage residents in meaningful activities tailored to their cognitive abilities and interests to promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
Practice safe patient lifting techniques and manual handling procedures to prevent injury for both clients and caregivers.
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, resident progress, and any incidents or changes in condition.
Support with meal preparation, feeding assistance, light cleaning duties, and maintaining a safe environment aligned with health standards.

Experience

Prior assisted living or long-term care experience is highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
Knowledge of dementia care practices, behavior management strategies, and memory care techniques.
Hands-on experience with resident/client communication and personalized support plans.
Familiarity with standard passenger car operation for transportation needs within community or facility settings.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications related to medication administration or safe patient handling are advantageous.
Experience working in residential care homes or group home environments is beneficial for understanding diverse caregiving scenarios.
