Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Supply Chain Coordinator supports daily supply chain activities to help ensure the timely flow of materials, accurate system information, and reliable delivery performance. Reporting to the Supply Chain Specialist, this entry-level role assists with production planning, supplier communication, inventory tracking, logistics coordination, and supply chain reporting.

The coordinator works closely with Operations, Production, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, Warehouse, and external suppliers and carriers. This role is designed for an individual beginning a career in supply chain who is organized, analytical, responsive, and interested in developing within a manufacturing environment. The role supports, but does not independently own, the Specialist-level responsibilities for production planning, supplier management, logistics strategy, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Our Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for the following activities: 

Assist the Supply Chain Specialist with daily production-planning and material-availability activities
Review inventory, open orders, customer requirements, and production schedules; identify potential shortages, late deliveries, or data discrepancies for escalation
Maintain accurate material, supplier, purchase-order, inventory, and delivery information in SAP, MRP, EDI, spreadsheets, and other planning tools, as applicable
Monitor supplier order acknowledgments, delivery dates, inbound shipments, and delivery performance; follow up with suppliers and carriers as directed
Support the creation and distribution of supplier forecasts, releases, schedules, and other supply chain communications
Assist with coordinating inbound and outbound logistics, including shipment tracking, carrier communication, delivery appointments, packaging information, and shipping documentation.
Help maintain inventory-control records and support cycle counts, inventory investigations, reconciliation, and root-cause follow-up
Prepare routine reports and dashboards related to inventory, shortages, supplier delivery, on-time performance, freight, and production requirements
Support supplier scorecards, supplier documentation, and quality-related communication, including tracking supplier issues and corrective-action follow-up
Assist with new product launches, material readiness reviews, supplier onboarding activities, and updates to material-planning or logistics documentation
Participate in cross-functional meetings and communicate material risks, open actions, and status updates promptly
Support continuous-improvement efforts related to material flow, planning tools, warehouse processes, packaging, and logisticsAssist with purchasing activities, including preparing and issuing purchase orders, maintaining purchase-order records, and confirming order acknowledgments, pricing, quantities, lead times, and delivery dates
Support the procurement of production materials, indirect materials, packaging, and other required supplies in accordance with established purchasing procedures and approval requirements
Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, purchase-order, and delivery information in SAP, MRP, EDI, spreadsheets, and other applicable systems
Follow up with suppliers regarding open purchase orders, order changes, shortages, late deliveries, and shipping status; promptly escalate supply risks or discrepancies to the Supply Chain Specialist
Assist with obtaining quotations and supporting documentation for material, service, freight, or supply purchases as assigned
Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Receiving, Quality, and Operations to help resolve purchase-order, receipt, invoice, quantity, pricing, and quality discrepancies
Support supplier performance tracking by maintaining documentation related to delivery performance, responsiveness, quality issues, and corrective-action follow-up

Experience

One - Three years of experience in supply chain, materials planning, logistics, purchasing, inventory control, manufacturing, customer service, or a related field.
Internship, co-op, coursework, or part-time experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or automotive environment is preferred.
Experience with SAP, an ERP system, MRP, EDI, or inventory-control systems is preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Basic understanding of supply chain concepts, including inventory, purchase orders, lead times, material planning, shipping, and supplier communication
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data entry, sorting, filtering, and basic formulas; willingness to develop advanced Excel skills
Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to analyze information, recognize potential issues, and escalate concerns promptly
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, carriers, and production personnel
Ability to learn new systems, procedures, and manufacturing processes
Exposure to lean manufacturing, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, or automotive quality systems is a plus, but not required

Education

Bachelors in Supply Chain management, logistics or operations management

Pay: $52,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
