Assistant Project Manager – ADU Construction BuildX | Carver, MA | Full-Time

This isn't a job. It's a career launchpad.

If you've been in construction long enough to know the difference between a good PM and a great one — and you're hungry to become the latter — read on.

BuildX is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our ADU division. You'll work directly alongside the owner, embedded in every phase of the build process, from pre-construction planning through punch list. This is a mentorship-first role. Our goal is simple: in 12 to 18 months, you're running jobs on your own.

What you'll actually be doing:

Shadowing and supporting the owner on active ADU projects — site visits, client meetings, subcontractor coordination, and scheduling
Learning our project management system (JobTread) inside and out — budgets, proposals, documentation, and daily logs
Managing project communication between clients, field crews, and trade partners
Helping prepare client-facing proposals and scope documents
Tracking job costs and flagging issues before they become problems
Taking on increasing responsibility as you prove yourself ready

Who we're looking for:

You don't need five years of PM experience. You need the right foundation and the right drive.

2+ years in residential construction — field, office, or both
You understand how a project is supposed to run, even if you haven't been the one running it yet
Detail-oriented and organized — you write things down, you follow up, you close the loop
Strong communicator with homeowners and trade partners alike
Hungry to grow and not afraid to ask questions
Comfortable with technology — or willing to learn fast
