Fabricator/Welder – Build with Precision, Weld with Purpose
Are you a skilled welder who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and getting the job done right? As a Fabricator/Welder at SP Industries, you’ll play a critical role in supporting production by assembling, welding, and finishing high-quality weldments built to exact specifications.
In this hands-on role, you’ll primarily perform MIG welding on a variety of materials including sheet metal, plate, and structural steel (angle, channel, tube, and I-beams). You’ll apply advanced fabrication techniques and heat control practices to ensure assemblies remain square, flat, and within tolerance—delivering results that meet strict quality standards.
You’ll also work with a wide range of fabrication equipment and metal processing tools, contributing to efficient production flow while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
What You’ll Do
You’ll play a hands-on role in building high-quality products while driving safety, precision, and efficiency.
- Assemble and weld components to blueprint specifications using MIG welding in multiple positions
- Interpret drawings and verify materials to ensure accuracy and quality standards
- Operate fabrication equipment including cutting, grinding, drilling, and forming tools
- Safely move materials using overhead cranes and fork trucks
- Maintain production flow by meeting timelines and supporting team efficiency
- Keep a clean, organized workspace while following all safety protocols
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure builds meet specifications and expectations
- Support additional tasks and projects as needed
What You Bring
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on fabrication welding experience
- Strong ability to maintain square and flat tolerances during fabrication
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent MIG welding skills across multiple materials and positions
- Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, levels, calipers, and lasers
- Skilled in metal fabrication processes including cutting, grinding, drilling, tapping, and preheating
- Experience operating heavy fabrication equipment (saws, cranes, shears, ironworkers, fork trucks)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to work in various positions (kneeling, crouching, overhead, etc.)
