Teachers First is seeking K-3 Teachers for The Gaming and Technology Academy of Saginaw!
The Gaming and Technology Academy of Saginaw (GATA) is opening in Fall 2026 and is seeking innovative, passionate educators who want to help build something different from the ground up.

GATA is designed to be a highly engaging school where academics, technology, creativity, competition, and real-world learning come together through gamified systems, hands-on experiences, and strong relationships to prepare students for the future. Positions are being filled on a rolling basis. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply early. Applicants must be able to report for in-person employment in Saginaw, Michigan by August 10, 2026.

Position Summary

The K-3 Teacher is responsible for creating a positive, engaging classroom where students develop strong academic foundations while fostering curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning. Teachers will provide high-quality instruction aligned with Michigan Academic Standards while integrating technology, project-based learning, and collaborative experiences into daily instruction.

Essential Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons that meet the diverse needs of all learners.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom culture.
Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Differentiate instruction using assessment data to maximize student growth.
Integrate technology and hands-on learning experiences into daily instruction.
Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leadership to continuously improve instruction and student achievement.
Maintain accurate student records and communicate student progress with families.
Participate in professional learning and actively contribute to the development of GATA's innovative school culture.
Support school-wide events, initiatives, and extracurricular opportunities as needed.

Qualifications

Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate (or ability to obtain one).
Elementary Education certification with appropriate grade-level endorsements.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
Passion for student-centered learning and instructional innovation.
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and school leadership.
Experience integrating technology into instruction is preferred.

*Don't have a Michigan Teaching Certificate? If you have a bachelor's degree and experience working with children, you may be eligible for Michigan's Alternative Route Teaching Certification. Teachers First can help qualified candidates through the certification process.
