Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Medical Assistant / Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of our healthcare practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical office management, clinical support, and team supervision. This role combines administrative leadership with clinical assistance, ensuring smooth practice operations, compliance with healthcare regulations, and exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in managing medical records, billing, staff coordination, and utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to optimize workflow and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Manage the overall operations of the medical practice, including staff supervision, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Oversee medical administrative functions such as patient registration, appointment scheduling, and maintaining accurate medical records using EMR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Supervise healthcare staff including medical assistants, nurses, and administrative personnel to ensure high performance and compliance with healthcare standards.
Coordinate billing processes, insurance claims, and financial management activities to ensure revenue cycle efficiency.
Ensure adherence to health regulation policies such as HIPAA, JCAHO standards, and compliance protocols across all practice activities.
Facilitate human resources functions including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development initiatives.
Maintain inventory control of medical supplies and equipment while managing vendor relationships for procurement needs.
Implement practice management strategies that enhance patient management workflows and improve overall clinic efficiency.

Skills

Extensive experience in medical office management with proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Strong supervisory skills with a proven track record of managing healthcare teams effectively.
Knowledge of healthcare management principles including fiscal management, budgeting, and financial oversight.
Familiarity with medical billing procedures, managed care policies, and utilization management practices.
Excellent managerial communication skills to coordinate between clinical staff, patients, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
Deep understanding of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and JCAHO standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and administrative tasks.
Background in nursing or acute care experience is advantageous for clinical support roles within the practice.
