Job Summary

The Student Assistant performs a variety of support duties through close interaction with Administrative staff and faculty and, as needed, with other departments and/or organizations.

The duties and responsibilities of this position require interpersonal and clerical skills and an understanding of effective customer service.

Responsibilities

Reception - 40

Assists a variety of visitors and refers a range of administrative issues and inquiries; serves as receptionist for incoming telephone calls, routes calls, and relays messages.

Administrative Support - 40

Retrieves and distributes incoming mail; deposits outgoing mail; hand delivers sensitive documents. Operates equipment, including fax machine, personal computer or laptop, printer, copier, scanner, etc. Organizes and monitors inventory of office supplies.

Other Duties as Assigned - 20

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Student enrolled in at least six credit hours as an undergraduate student at Georgia College

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Outstanding customer service skills

Must be proactive and able to engage with a diverse constituency

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
