Full Job Description

Kanpai is hiring the following positions:

-Host/Hostess

Kanpai is a sushi restaurant located in Historic Third Ward (408 E Chicago St, Milwaukee).

An ideal candidate should be a positive individual with punctuality, strong multi-tasking skills, and a desire to provide unsurpassed hospitality.

Qualifications:

Must be available to work on Friday and Saturday dinner shifts (mandatory) and 2-3 weekday shifts, prefer someone who has a flexible schedule.
Great guest relation skills and communication skills
Strong organization skills with the ability to monitor the dining area and takeout orders
Ability to meet restaurant uniform and grooming standards and maintain during shifts
Good physical condition to stay standing/walking for 4-5 hours
A positive individual who can work well in a team environment
Previous host/hostess experience is preferred (experience with Opentable, UberEats, DoorDash) but not required

Job Responsibilities:

Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner
Manage reservations
Seat guests and manage the seating chart
Monitors restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow
Responds to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
Performs opening and closing duties, as needed
Answer incoming calls
Manage carryout and third-party delivery (Uber Eats, DoorDash) orders
Assist wait staff as needed
