Full Job Description

Bar Manager – The Loon Room

This is your shot.

If you’re a talented bartender who knows you’re ready for more, but haven’t been given the opportunity to prove it, this is it.

The Loon Room isn’t just a bar. It’s one of Milwaukee’s most unique nightlife experiences: an intimate, high-energy basement speakeasy where cocktails, music, and atmosphere come together to create something people talk about.

We’re looking for someone ready to step into their first true leadership role, someone who wants to own a space, build a program, and put their stamp on Milwaukee’s bar scene.

What This Role Really Is

This isn’t corporate management.

This isn’t babysitting a big team.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll run a tight, talented crew, take real ownership of the bar program, and play a key role within the broader restaurant operation, working directly with and reporting to the GM.

This is a full-time position with room to grow, expand your responsibilities, and develop your career within our team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Own the Bar Program

Design and evolve a cocktail menu that reflects the Loon Room’s identity. This is your chance to create something people come back for.

Run the Business Side

Manage ordering, inventory, and costs across liquor, beer, and wine—keeping things tight without sacrificing quality.

Lead the Team & Set the Tone

Train, guide, and work alongside your team. You’ll define the energy of the room and make sure every night feels dialed in.

Be the Face of the Room

You’re not stuck in the back. You’re on the floor, serving, hosting, reading the crowd, and making sure every guest leaves impressed.

You Might Be a Fit If…

- You’ve got 2+ years behind a bar, ideally in cocktails or a quality-driven environment

- You’ve been the one people rely on—and you know you’re ready for more responsibility

- You care about craft, service, and experience, not just getting drinks out

- You have high social awareness—you can read a room, lead a team, and handle pressure without losing your cool
