Full Job Description

About Us:

Midwest Motors is a family-owned and operated company with 5 dealerships located across the Twin Cities area. Brands include Honda, Toyota, Nissan and Ford. The Human Resources department supports our 750+ employees, and is an onsite position based in Inver Grove Heights, MN.

Position Summary:

The Full-Time Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll, reporting, and other HR support needs as requested.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Key Responsibilities:

Process accurate and timely payroll for weekly and semi-monthly employees using UKG Pro.
Maintain payroll records and ensure all payroll documentation is accurate, organized, and up to date.
Process child support orders, tax levies, and wage garnishments in compliance with applicable regulations.
Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries, taxes, and garnishments in CDK accounting software.
Management of HRIS set-up for earnings, deductions, GL accounts, and other related fields.
Generate monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc payroll and HR reports as needed.
Complete annual EEO-1 reporting and other required compliance reporting.
Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requirements.
Assist with payroll processing for employee terminations, including final pay and related documentation.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and general HR policies and procedures.
Support the Human Resources team with payroll administration and other HR-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

2 years of experience processing payroll for a mid-sized company (500 - 1000 employees).
2 years of experience using UKG’s software/HRIS management (preferred) or other HRIS software.
Proficient in Excel and other Office 365 applications.
Working knowledge of accounting and general ledgers.
Strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy of data entry.
FPC Certification - preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

Base Salary: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour (non-exempt position)
