JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Manager is a key member of the property leadership team who oversees the day-to-day operations of Front Desk, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and related support areas. You will partner closely with the General Manager to deliver a consistently outstanding guest experience while driving associate engagement and strong financial results.

This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced airport hotel environment—where high guest turnover, shuttle operations, and 24/7 service demands are the norm. You will set the tone for service excellence, coach and develop your team, and ensure every arrival and departure feels seamless, welcoming, and true to the Holiday Inn brand promise of “Stay Smart.”

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

- High school diploma or GED; 4 years of progressive experience in front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, or related hotel operations

- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years of experience in the areas listed above

Preferred: Prior leadership experience in a full-service or select-service hotel, ideally with an airport or high-volume transient property. Experience with Opera PMS or similar systems is a plus.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Leading the Operations Team

- Create and nurture a property environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement, and a genuine passion for service.

- Lead by example—demonstrating energy, self-confidence, and enthusiasm every shift.

- Translate property goals into clear daily priorities for the team and celebrate wins along the way.

- Coach, mentor, and develop associates so they can confidently exceed guest expectations and grow in their careers.

- Conduct regular one-on-ones, provide timely feedback, and address performance opportunities with fairness and care.

- Partner with the General Manager on hiring, onboarding, and succession planning for key operational roles.

Managing Day-to-Day Property Operations

- Oversee Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage operations to ensure brand standards, cleanliness, and service delivery are consistently met.

- Act as Manager on Duty as scheduled, handling guest concerns, service recovery, and operational escalations with professionalism and ownership.

- Coordinate labor scheduling across departments to match forecasted demand while controlling costs.

- Maintain a strong, visible presence in public areas—greeting guests, assessing satisfaction in real time, and supporting the team during peak periods.

- Ensure the complimentary airport shuttle, pool, fitness center, and other guest amenities operate smoothly and safely.

- Drive adherence to Holiday Inn / IHG brand standards and property-specific procedures.

Driving Guest Satisfaction and Loyalty

- Communicate the key drivers of guest satisfaction for our target customers and ensure the team understands how their daily actions impact those scores.

- Own the guest experience end-to-end, including proactive service recovery, thoughtful responses to reviews, and recognition of loyal guests.

- Monitor guest feedback daily and work with the team to quickly address trends or recurring issues.

- Champion a culture where every associate feels empowered to solve problems and create memorable moments.

Managing Profitability and Operational Excellence

- Review daily and weekly financial and operational reports to identify opportunities for cost control and revenue enhancement.

- Partner with the General Manager and department leaders to manage controllable expenses, labor productivity, and inventory.

- Support the execution of property-level initiatives that improve both the guest experience and the bottom line.

- Ensure key control, cash handling, and security procedures are followed at all times.

- Assist with quality audits, brand assessments, and continuous improvement plans.

And the numbers—occupancy, ADR contribution from operations, labor productivity, and guest satisfaction scores—reflect disciplined, caring leadership.
