Hourly Pay + Leasing Commission

Position Summary

We’re looking for an Assistant Property Manager who is confident, organized, personable, and knows how to sell. This role is heavily focused on leasing and resident experience -you’ll be one of the first people prospective residents meet and a key part of turning leads into leases.

You’ll manage the leasing process from initial inquiry through move-in, stay on top of follow-up, assist with renewals and resident needs, and support the Property Manager with day-to-day operations.

Our communities are growing and evolving, and some are undergoing significant renovations and repositioning. We need someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of their responsibilities, and helping create a great experience for both prospects and current residents.

What You’ll Do

Respond quickly and professionally to phone, email, online, and walk-in leasing inquiries.
Conduct property tours and confidently showcase apartment homes, amenities, renovations, and community features.
Build relationships with prospects, identify what they’re looking for, overcome objections, and ask for the lease.
Consistently follow up with prospects and maintain an active leasing pipeline.
Guide applicants through the application and screening process, including required documentation and qualification criteria.
Process applications, screenings, lease paperwork, addenda, and move-in documentation accurately.
Maintain a strong understanding of Fair Housing requirements and apply policies consistently.
Work toward leasing, application, occupancy, and renewal goals.
Assist with lease renewals and proactively communicate with residents ahead of expiration dates.
Keep pricing, availability, specials, and property information accurate across leasing and marketing platforms.
Coordinate upcoming move-ins and work with the team to ensure apartment homes are ready before resident arrival.
Assist residents with questions, concerns, and general account needs while providing strong customer service.
Help plan and execute resident events, outreach efforts, referral programs, and other community marketing initiatives.
Conduct local outreach both in person and digitally to generate awareness and new leads.
Shop competing properties and stay informed on local pricing, specials, amenities, and market conditions.
Prepare leasing activity and performance updates for the Property Manager.
Assist with seasonal projects, lease-up efforts, property initiatives, and special projects as needed.

What We’re Looking For

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous leasing, property management, sales, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
Multifamily experience is a plus, but strong sales and customer service experience can translate well.
Strong leasing instincts with the confidence to follow up, overcome objections, and close.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage applications, leases, follow-up, resident communication, and multiple priorities at once.
Comfortable learning and using property management software, CRM systems, and online leasing platforms.
Basic understanding of Fair Housing requirements and the ability to consistently follow company policies and procedures.
Dependable, proactive, and willing to take ownership rather than waiting to be told what needs done.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced property environment where priorities may shift throughout the day.
Coachable, accountable, and motivated by leasing and occupancy goals.
Availability to work weekends when required based on property needs and leasing traffic.

The Person Who Will Do Well Here

You’re friendly and approachable, but you’re also comfortable selling. You follow up without being reminded, keep your pipeline organized, communicate well with residents and prospects, and notice when something needs attention.

You don’t need to know everything on day one, but you do need to be willing to learn quickly, take feedback, and take ownership of your role. This is a hands-on position for someone who can balance leasing, resident service, and day-to-day property support without losing track of the details.
