Overview

Join our dynamic logistics team as a Trucking Dispatcher, where you'll be the vital link ensuring seamless coordination of freight movement and vehicle dispatching. This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to optimize road transportation operations by leveraging your organizational prowess, communication skills, and technical expertise. As a key player in our supply chain network, you’ll manage dispatch activities, coordinate with drivers and clients, and utilize cutting-edge transportation management systems to keep everything running smoothly. Your proactive approach will drive efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and support our commitment to excellence in logistics.

Duties

Coordinate and schedule freight pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely dispatch of trucks in accordance with customer requirements and DOT regulations.
Utilize vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management to plan routes, monitor shipments, and optimize fleet utilization.
Communicate effectively with drivers via multi-line phone systems and internal communication channels to relay instructions, updates, and address operational issues promptly.
Manage GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, analyze route data, and improve transportation planning strategies.
Maintain accurate data entry for shipment details, driver logs, and freight documentation while adhering to shipping & receiving protocols.
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations by monitoring driver hours of service, vehicle inspections, and safety standards.
Collaborate with the logistics team on supply chain activities including freight management, fleet management, and third-party logistics (3PL) coordination to streamline operations.

Experience

Proven experience in transportation planning or road transportation operations within a logistics or freight environment.
Familiarity with transportation management systems such as DAT HIGHWAY TMS Management or similar platforms.
Strong knowledge of GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and vehicle dispatch software to enhance route efficiency.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
Effective communication skills for phone call management, customer service interactions, and internal team collaboration.
Experience working within compliance frameworks such as DOT regulations and safety standards for fleet management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for reporting and data analysis; typing skills are essential for efficient data entry.
