Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk

Show Me Ethanol – Carrollton, MO

Full-Time | On-Site | Reports to the Controller

Position Summary

Show Me Ethanol is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to support vendor invoice processing, payment scheduling, recordkeeping, and front office coordination. This is a cross-functional support role, so you will also help provide backup coverage for scale and logistics, accounts receivable, purchasing, and general office needs. It is a great fit for someone who is organized, accurate, and enjoys keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly.

Key Accountabilities

Process vendor invoices accurately and on time
Prepare vendor payments and maintain the AP payment schedule
Maintain AP documentation and support audit readiness
Perform AP account reconciliations and resolve issues
Follow and improve AP processes and controls

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

Coordinate daily AP workflow, including invoice follow-up, vendor communication, and internal issue resolution
Track open items, deadlines, discrepancies, and approvals to keep AP work moving on schedule
Maintain organized records and documentation to support accurate reporting and audit readiness
Cross-train and provide backup coverage for Scale and Logistics, Accounts Receivable, and the Purchasing Specialist role
Assist with shareholder coordination activities as needed
Serve as front office support by answering phones, greeting visitors, coordinating appointments, and assisting with HR and general office needs

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior accounts payable, bookkeeping, accounting, or office administration experience preferred
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organized records
Professional communication with vendors, visitors, and internal team members
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel and Outlook experience preferred
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

AP work is accurate, timely, and well organized
Vendor and internal questions are followed up on promptly
Records are easy to find and ready for review when needed
Backup coverage helps keep office, scale, AR, and purchasing work moving
Visitors, callers, and internal team members receive professional support
